New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the Rajya Sabha on Wednesday and participated in a discussion on the Motion of Thanks to the President's Address. PM Modi's Modi's address concentrated on crucial topics like corruption, Bengal violence, NEET scam, inflation, and the Agniveer scheme, all of which have been subjects of discussion in the upper House of Parliament thus far.

Earlier on Tuesday, the Prime Minister addressed the Lok Sabha following which the first session of the 18th Lok Sabha was adjourned sine die. Speaker Om Birla said it recorded a productivity of 103 per cent.

Prime Minister Modi's address in the Rajya Sabha follows his fierce rebuttal of Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi in the Lok Sabha the previous day. The prime minister accused Rahul Gandhi and the Congress of focusing all their efforts on propagating the notion that the BJP-led NDA lost the 2024 general elections, despite the coalition securing a historic third term.

PM Modi made several jibes Modi made several jabs at Gandhi and the INDI bloc after the Leader of the Opposition was accused of "associating Hinduism with violence" in his response to the Motion of Thanks.

As proceedings of Rajya Sabha began this morning, Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhhar offered condolences on the loss of lives in the stampede in Hathras in Uttar Pradesh. Leader of the Opposition in Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge called on the government to enact legislation aimed at preventing similar incidents in the future. The Chairman asked the leader of the House to work together with LoP so that such events can be avoided.
