Ahead of the pivotal INDIA bloc meeting in Delhi, posters portraying Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar as the primary leader of the coalition were shown in Patna.

The posters consisted the message: 'Agar sach mein jeet chahiye toh fir ek Nischay aur ek Nitish chahiye' (If you really want to win, you need a determination and you need a Nitish).

The posters have reignited speculation about Nitish's at the helm leadership in the alliance, despite the Bihar chief minister's repeated statements that he wants nothing for himself. 

The herculean task before the INDI alliance is to reach a consensus on alliance's face and seat sharing with as the Lok Sabha elections is just four months away. 

The impending meeting in the nation's capital is considered as a critical one as the seat sharing is a top agenda of the meet. 

Due to discrepancies among the members of the INDIA bloc, the alliance's immediate goal is to come to an agreement on the creation of a convener, a spokesperson, and a shared secretariat.

What did alliance members say on upcoming meet? 
 

Tejashwi Yadav, the RJD leader and Bihar Deputy Chief Minister, played down any questions regarding Kumar's role, stating that everyone has the same function and the same goal, which is to remove factors that cause division.

Mamata Banerjee, the chief minister of West Bengal, stated earlier on Monday that the INDIA bloc's choice for prime minister will be made following the general elections in 2024. She expressed confidence that the alliance will resolve all outstanding difficulties, including seat-sharing, and defeat the BJP. Additionally, she refuted claims that the coalition has wasted time organizing affairs, stating that "it is better late than never."

Mamata Banerjee stated she could not discuss alliance partners when asked about Congressman Rahul Gandhi's position in the general elections.

Following a significant defeat in the most recent assembly elections in three states, the Congress party will get together with its coalition partners to decide on next steps while keeping the 2024 Lok Sabha elections in mind.

The INDIA alliance—which includes the Congress, TMC, Samajwadi Party, CPI (M), AAP, and PDP—will meet today in New Delhi to discuss redrawing the strategy for opposing the BJP in the general elections of 2024, as well as a plan for a cooperative campaign and seat sharing.
