Sources tell Republic TV that Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is all set to sack Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav. As per sources, the CM has made up his decision. While earlier it was reported that CM Nitish Kumar would break the alliance, sources now confirm that Tejashwi Yadav would have to resign. They also added that if Tejaswi Yadav dosen't resign, then Nitish would step down.

The decision regarding this matter would be taken soon.

Earlier on Monday, the RJD stood firmly behind beleaguered Deputy CM Tejashwi Yadav and dismissed the BJP's demand for his resignation after he was accused of corruption in a land-for-hotel case that is being probed by the CBI. The Congress had also backed the Deputy Chief Minister.

Nitish has talks with Sonia

Sources say Nitish is in conversation with Congress president Sonia Gandhi over the issue and has made it clear that he cannot continue with Tejashwi continue as the deputy CM. It is said that Nitish would accept any other person nominated by Lalu Prasad Yadav.

'Waiting for Nitish to break his silence'

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Sushil Modi has said that the party is waiting for Mr. Kumar to break his silence. "When even after a three-day ultimatum, Tejashwi is not giving a resignation, he is challenging the right of the Chief Minister. I don't think there can be anything more insulting than this. The BJP is just waiting for the Chief Minister to speak on this matter and ask for Tejashwi Yadav's resignation," he said.

"I don't think Nitish Kumar will maintain silence in this matter. I am sure Nitish Kumar will dismiss Tejashwi Yadav, if he doesn't give his resignation. Still, I cannot guarantee about it," he added.

No split in the mahagathbandhan: Tejashwi

Meanwhile, Tejashwi has dubbed the reports of a split between the RJD and the Janata Dal (United) as BJP-driven agenda. Earlier, he said people should not be perturbed by such reports of split in the mahagathbandhan.

Taking to his Twitter, Tejashwi wrote he cannot help but laugh at the 'disruptive sources' carrying out an agenda of the BJP. "Utpaati sutro ke naam se media ka ek varg BJP ka hai jo ek sootriya karyakram chala raha hai uspar zoro se hasi aa rahi hai. Bhoonja khao, mast raho," he tweeted.
