Government's motion to suspend 12 MPs involved in ruckus approved in Rajya Sabha. Names include Shiv Sena's Priyanka Chaturvedi and TMC MP Dola Sen. A massive ruckus had erupted in both houses during the Monsoon Session affecting the Parliament proceedings. Some MPs had also been suspended by the respective chairmen of the Houses for their misbehavior.

After the farm laws were passed in both houses of the Parliament, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi slammed the BJP-led Centre, stating that the government is terrified of discussion with the Opposition.
"We had mentioned earlier that the farm laws would have to be withdrawn. We understood that 3-4 large crony capitalists cannot stand against the might of Indian farmers The issue is how the bills were repealed. They withdrew the bills without any discussion or debate. We wanted to discuss the forces behind the bills. We wanted to discuss MSP, the Lakhimpur Kheri incident and the death of farmers during protests," Gandhi told the media.

The Farm Laws Repeal Bill 2021 was cleared by both houses of the Parliament on Monday. The bill will now be sent to the President for approval. Speaking in the Upper House, Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Tomar said the withdrawal of the farm laws has been a long-pending demand of the farmers as well as the Opposition, therefore there is no requirement to hold debates.
After a call for votes, RS Speaker Harshvardhan Jain declared the bills passed and adjourned the house for 30 minutes.

RBI has been examining use cases and working out a phased implementation strategy for the introduction of Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC) with little or no disruption, the Minister of Finance said in a written reply in Lok Sabha.
"The introduction of CBDC has the potential to provide benefits, like reduced dependency on cash, higher seigniorage due to lower transaction costs, reduced settlement risk. It can lead to a more robust, trusted, regulated & legal tender-based payments option," it added.

Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha, Mallikarjun Kharge demanded a discussion on the Farm Laws Repeal Bill, 2021 that will be tabled in the Upper House at 2 pm today.
"By passing of this Bill in Lok Sabha in a haste, they (govt) just want to prove that they are in the favour of farmers. The Government is wrong in saying that there is never a discussion on Repeal Bills, therefore it will not allow discussion on Repeal of Farm Laws Bill," said Kharge.

The Opposition expressed displeasure over the passing of the farm laws repeal bill without discussion in the Lok Sabha. Congress MP Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury said, "the Govt blames us for not letting the House function. But Farm Laws Repeal Bill 2021 was introduced and passed without discussion. The opposition had demanded a discussion on it. Even though the govt has repealed the farm laws, its 'Mann ki Baat' is something else."

Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi questioned the intention of Opposition parties who disrupted the proceedings of the lower house on Monday while the Farm Laws Repeal bill was being tabled in the Parliament.
Joshi said, the government had planned to pass the bill on priority in both the houses today, but the behaviour of Opposition MPs was questionable. Speaking to reporters after adjournment of the sessions, the Minister appealed 'Congress and its friends' to maintain decorum when the bill is tabled in the Rajya Sabha later today.

The Lok Sabha passed the Farm Laws Repeal Bill on Monday, amid massive ruckus by the Opposition, forcing Speaker Om Birla to once again adjourn the proceedings till 2 pm today. Several Opposition MPs interrupted the introduction of the bill, demanding discussion, even as others continued to raise slogans against the government. The LS Speaker insisted that the environment is not conducive for debate and therefore passed the bill after it received majority votes.

A massive ruckus has erupted in both houses during the Monsoon Session seriously affecting the Parliament proceedings. Moreover, some MPs had been suspended by the respective chairmen of the Houses over misbehavior.

Congress MPs Manish Tewari and Manicka Tagore gave motions for the adjournment of Lok Sabha today on the issue of farmers who have lost their lives during the agitation against farm laws.
