Telangana Congress leader booked for sexual assault in Karnataka

Karnataka Police has booked Telangana Congress leader Kumbam Shivakumar Reddy for alleged rape, sexual assault.

A Telangana Congress leader has been booked for rape and sexual assault by the Karnataka Police. According to the FIR, Telangana Congress' Narayanpet district chief Kumbam Shivakumar Reddy is accused of raping a woman at a five-star hotel. The FIR was lodged at Cubbon Park police station in Bengaluru.

The complainant told the police that the accused called her to a five-star hotel and sexually assaulted her. Kumbam Shivakumar Reddy has been booked under sections 417, 420, 376, 506 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

This is not the first time the Congress leader has been booked for such a crime. Reddy faces a rape and cheating case according to an FIR lodged at the Panjagutta police station in Hyderabad.  

Kumbam Shivakumar Reddy contested the 2018 assembly elections from Narayanpet. He lost the polls.
