Rakshabandhan: Union Minister Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti ties 'Rakhi' to Union Minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi

India celebrates twin festivals this year on August 15 - 73rd Independence Day and Raksha Bandhan. In a festive gesture, Union Minister MoS Rural Development Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti, on Thursday tied a 'Rakhi' to Union Minority Affairs Minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi.

Thanking Jyoti for her yearly Rakhi, Naqvi thanked her for the rakhi and her everlasting sisterly love. He also expressed pride in India's diverse traditions.

Similarly, Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandben Patel tied Rakhi to UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, celebrating Raksha Bandhan.

Wishing the nation on Raksha Bandhan, President Ram Nath Kovind tweeted:

Before his Independence Day address, PM Modi too wished the nation 'Happy Raksha Bandhan.'
