Ashok Nagar: In a shocking video that has gone viral, a man is seen wielding a sword and trying to kidnap a woman before her own wedding. The man – identified as Salim Khan aka Kalu – allegedly raped the woman earlier and she is a sexual assault survivor. The criminal attempted to kidnap her before she got married to another man on Thursday, say reports.

The Madhya Pradesh Police have reportedly arrested the man for an attempt to abduct the 22-year-old bride from Ashok Nagar, who is a victim of his assault.

The alleged rapist Kalu, who was carrying a sword - as seen in the video - was accompanied by other men reportedly named Jodha, Sameer and Shahrukh, who were carrying sticks. They dragged the sexual assault survivor from her house in front of her family. The attackers hurt her family members and broke her father’s leg and her brother’s arm, say reports.

The bride was saved by the neighbours, who gathered around to shield her. The accused fled the scene, but threatened the bride’s family and the bridegroom.

Police registers two FIRs

As per reports, the MP Police have registered two first information reports (FIRs) in the case. The first FIR is on the woman victim’s complaint under Sections 376 (rape) and 363 (attempt to kidnap) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

The second FIR was registered under Sections 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 294 (using obscene language) and 506 (criminal intimidation) on the complaint of the woman’s father.
