Rickshaw Driver Stabbed to Death by Minors After Trying to Resist Mobile Theft in Shastri Park

New Delhi: On Sunday, a rickshaw driver was stabbed to death by two minors after he resisted mobile theft, as per media reports.

The incident took place in Delhi's Shastri Park area on Sunday evening at around 8 pm.

According to Delhi Police, it all happened after the accused tried robbing a mobile from the deceased, identified as Abdul Qayyum, and stabbed him when he resisted.

The officials have identified both accused, said to be minors and residents of Shastri Park. The accused stabbed Abdul multiple times, the officer said, adding that a passerby spotted him lying in a pool of blood and informed local police.

The CCTV footage of the area was checked and the duo was identified, he said.

The police said that they were checking if both the accused were involved in any cases previously.

A case has been registered in the incident and an investigation is underway
