Moradabad: Former Samajwadi Party’s District Unit chief DP Yadav shot himself dead at his residence in Buddhi Vihar in the city. According to sources he shot himself with his revolver. The exact reason behind his death is yet to be ascertained. 

Soon after the matter came to light, police were alerted. DP Yadav was one of the founding members of the Akhilesh Yadav-led party. The incident has sent shock waves in the city.  

Police along with Forensic teams reached the spot and launched an investigation. Police were scanning the CCTV installed in his house and nearby areas.

His body has been sent for post-mortem. Yadav was an old party member. He was removed from the post of district president during the recently-held Lok Sabha elections. He was replaced with Jaiveer Singh.
