Bihar: A woman was bitten by a snake, while she was cleaning her house in Bihar's Sabour. However, when the woman was taken to a hospital, doctors were taken aback when her husband not only brought her in for the snakebite but also the snake that had bitten her in a bucket.
The 29-year-old woman, Nisha was bitten while she was cleaning their house in Jhurkhuriya village. Hearing her cries for help, Rahul her husband rushed to her room and discovered the snake hiding behind a religious picture.
He quickly used a stick to capture the snake and placed it in a bucket. By then, Nisha had lost consciousness. Rahul then made her sit on his bike and also hung the bucket, with the snake in it, on the two-wheeler's handle.
“This snake has bitten my wife, please save her,” said Rahul, told the stunned staff at the Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College in Bhagalpur district.
Upon reaching the hospital, the doctors instructed Rahul to put the snake away before sending Nisha to the emergency department. They assessed the venom from the reptile to treat her.
The doctors said Nisha's condition is stable. The snake has been kept in the hospital.
A similar bizarre incident was reported earlier in July from Bihar where a snake bit a man, who then bit the reptile back in the belief that it would reverse the venom’s effect. The snake died, while the man was rushed to a hospital where he survived with proper medical treatment.
