New Delhi: Chief Medical Officer Rajkumar Aggarwal confirmed the tragic deaths of 100 people, including three children, in a stampede at a religious gathering in Hathras, Uttar Pradesh. The stampede occurred amid a large crowd that had gathered for the event.

Reacting to the devastating news, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed deep sorrow over the loss of lives. He stated, "The loss of life in the unfortunate accident in Hathras district is extremely sad and heart-wrenching. My condolences are with the bereaved families."

He assured that relief and rescue operations were underway urgently, with instructions to provide proper treatment to the injured.

He further said, Ministers from the Uttar Pradesh government, Shri Laxmi Narayan Chaudhary Ji and Shri Sandeep Singh Ji, have already departed for the incident site. They have directed the Chief Secretary and Director General of Police to oversee operations firsthand.

A special team, led by ADG Agra and the Commissioner of Aligarh, has been formed to investigate the causes behind the tragic stampede. The Chief Minister concluded with a prayer, saying, “I pray to Lord Shri Ram to give a place to the departed souls at his feet and provide speedy recovery to the injured.”
