Srinagar: Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) Manoj Sinha has said that the abrogation of Article 370 needs to be given full credit for concluding a free, fair and peaceful Assembly elections in the Union Territory. The Assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir were held on September 18, 25 and October 1. The results will be declared on October 8.

Speaking exclusively to Republic TV's Editor-In-Chief Arnab Goswami , Manoj Sinha said that peaceful, terror free elections have concluded in Jammu and Kashmir after a long time and it's a befitting reply to our neighbour.

Jammu and Kashmir has absolutely benefitted from the abrogation of Article 370 and there is a terror-free environment. He further said that the poll body completed their job with all transparency. 

An example will be given in the future how successful elections in Jammu-Kashmir were conducted under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi .

Article 370 was abrogated by the country's Parliament and it was further approved by the Supreme Court, people who talk about bringing it back must speak with some responsibility.

In a victory for democracy, the third and final phase voter turnout in Jammu and Kashmir turned out to be highest, beating polling outcomes in various urban centres across the country including South Mumbai.

The phase 3 voter turnout in Kashmir has so far crossed 65.48 per cent leaving behind South Mumbai. Jammu and Kashmir witnessed its first Assembly elections after the abrogation of Article 370.
