New Delhi: Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) chief Sukhbir Singh defended CISF constable Kulwinder Kaur who allegedly slapped actress-turned-politician Kangana Ranaut at the Chandigarh airport. The CISF constable had allegedly slapped Kangana at the airport during security check as the MP was all set to board a flight to Delhi to attend the NDA meet.
Badal said Kaur's action was a response to Ranaut's derogatory comments about women participating in the Kisan Andolan and was made in an emotional state. He even urged newly-elected MP Kangana Ranaut to be more considerate with her words to avoid hurting sentiments.

"If you insult someone's mother by saying she and other women of Punjab are taking "100-100 Rupaiya" to participate in the Kisan Andolan you are bound to hurt the sentiments of their wards. This is exactly what happened with CISF #KulwinderKaur whose mother participated in the #KisanAndolan. What Kulwinder Kaur did was in an emotional state. Kangana Ranaut should be more circumvent about her utterances," Sukhbir Singh Badal said in a post on X.

Harsimrat Badal Defends Constable
SAD leader and Bathinda MP, Harsimrat Kaur Badal, had also defended the CISF constable, claiming that what one says always has an impact. "Kangana Ranaut should understand her responsibility instead of trying to please her high command. Being an actress, she is followed by many people. When you say stupid things and make useless comments, there is a reaction. If someone says such words to your mother that you have said to other people's mothers, you too won't like it," said Harsimrat Kaur Badal, while responding to the incident.

FIR Against Kulwinder Kaur
An FIR has been lodged against the CISF constable under IPC sections 321 and 341, while she has also been suspended by the department. In his complaint, Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) Inspector Surendra Kumar Sharma stated that Kaur suddenly came out from her frisking booth and unwarrantedly slapped Kangana. The accused was then immediately pushed away by a woman police constable in order to protect the BJP MP from the Mandi Lok Sabha seat.
As per the FIR registered by the police, the incident happened when Kangana Ranaut, on June 6, was travelling from Chandigarh to Delhi by Vistara flight no UK-707, which was scheduled to take off at 3.45 pm.
