Sushma Swaraj Passes Away: Hamid Ansari, who was brought back from Pak jail, thanks to former EAM expresses grief on 'motherly figure's' demise
August 6, 2019 witnessed the demise of one of the most prolific leaders of all time. Senior BJP leader and former External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj passed away leaving the country bereft of her exemplary leadership. Following a cardiac arrest the veteran Political leader was admitted to All India Institute of Medical Sciences in Delhi at around 9:30 pm on Tuesday and after fighting a fierce battle with life breathed her last at 11 in the night.

On Tuesday, August 6, 2019 one of the most prolific leaders of all time passed away. Senior BJP leader and former External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj had died leaving the country bereft of her exemplary leadership. Following a cardiac arrest, the senior political leader was admitted to All India Institute of Medical Sciences in Delhi at night on Tuesday following which she passed away despite doctors arduous attempts to revive her.
Several celebrities from all walks of life took to social media to mourn the sudden demise of the honorary political leader. Among them was Hamid Ansari the Indian national Sushma Swaraj helped bring back from a Pakistani jail.
Paying tribute to the departed soul, Hamid Ansari expressed his grief over the former Delhi Chief Minister's untimely death and also reiterated what a mother figure the late Union Minister was to him.

The Mumbai-based engineer had entered Pakistan on November 12, 2012, to meet a woman he had met through the social media. He was arrested by Pakistan's intelligence forces and handed a three-year sentence in 2015 for possessing a fake Pakistani identity card and it was only through the efforts of the then External Affairs Minister, Sushma Swaraj that he was able to walk free from prison into the Indian borders in 2018.
The loss was a great blow to the national party who lost a dynamic leader in the form of Sushma Swaraj. Eminent personalities, politicians, actors, as well as another individual brought back to India from Pakistan - Geeta, the deaf woman - under the aegis of Swaraj during her term as the EAM, also extended their condolences to her family.
Sushma Swaraj's demise
Former External Minister Sushma Swaraj was rushed to the emergency ward of AIIMS during 9:30 at night as she suffered a heart attack. She was accompanied by Union Health Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan to the hospital. The late politician is survived by her husband Swaraj Kaushal and daughter Bansuri. Her mortal remains were carried to her party office. Her body was kept for public viewing in the BJP headquarters till 3 pm.
