Sushma Swaraj Passes Away: Ravi Shankar Prasad breaks down, says, "She taught me like a younger brother"

Union Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad broke down while speaking to the media as he spoke over the demise of BJP's stalwart Sushma Swaraj outside Delhi AIIMS.

Union Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad broke down while speaking to the media as he spoke over the demise of BJP's stalwart Sushma Swaraj outside Delhi AIIMS.

Speaking to the media, he said, that she tweeted over the abrogation of Article 370 yesterday and then the news came that she was no more. He added how she guided him through the party, Parliament, and politics as an elder sister. 

He said, "It is a very sad time, my elder sister Sushma ji is no more. We had a relation for 25-30 years, she taught me like a younger brother in the party, Parliament and government. She called me the day before, she was so happy over Triple Talaq. Yesterday she tweeted over the abrogation of Article 370 and then news came that she is no more. I have no words."

In her last tweet, she thanked PM Modi over the removal of Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir. Moreover, said that she was waiting to see this day in her lifetime. 

She served as the first woman chief minister of Delhi in 1998. Swaraj was the first woman spokesperson for any national political party in the country and as the BJP MP even won the Outstanding Parliamentarian Award. 

The former External Affair Minister will always be remembered for her role in the governance of the country. She kick-started her political innings in 1977 as a member of the Janata Party and at the first go was elected as the MLA Haryana. In fact, she was the youngest cabinet minister in Haryana government at the age of 25.
