New Delhi: Amid the raging row surrounding Swati Maliwal in the assault case, the AAP Rajya Sabha MP has written a letter to the INDI Alliance seeking time for a meeting with everyone.

In a post shared on social media platform X, Maliwal said, "For the last 18 years, I have worked on the ground and in 9 years, I have heard 1.7 lakh cases in the Women's Commission. Without fearing anyone and bowing before anyone, I have raised the Women's Commission to a very high position. But it is very sad that first I was beaten badly at the Chief Minister's house, then my character was assassinated."

"Today I have written a letter on this subject to all the big leaders of the INDIA alliance. I have asked for a meeting time with everyone," the post read further.

This comes earlier this month, the Tis Hazari Court rejected the bail plea of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's aide Bibhav Kumar who has been accused of assaulting Maliwal on May 13 at the CM's official residence.

The court said that Bibhav is facing "grave and serious" charges and that it is speculated that he could influence witnesses, the court said.

"The investigation is at initial stage and there is fear in the mind of victim regarding her security as well as security of her family members as she is receiving continuous threats. There is also every apprehension that applicant or accused Bibhav Kumar would influence the witnesses, if at liberty," Special Judge Ekta Gauba Mann said.

"So, I do not find any merit in the present bail application."

What Swati Maliwal Had Alleged?

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Swati Maliwal revealed some serious and disturbing details. She had claimed that she was assaulted by Arvind Kejriwal’s close aide Bibhav Kumar at the Chief Minister's residence on May 13, morning.

Revealing the magnitude of the alleged assault, Maliwal, sources say, revealed how Bibhav Kumar (personal secretary & close aide of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and primary accused in the matter) kept hitting her in the lower abdomen even as she kept pleading for him to stop the abuse while also explicitly mentioning that she was menstruating.

Officials said that two PCR calls were made around 10 am, after which a team from the Civil Lines police station reached the chief minister's residence. While an immediate reaction from the Chief Minister's residence is awaited, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has called it ‘fake news’.
