Tirupati: Amid the ongoing Tirupati Laddu Controversy, TTD has announced ‘shanti homam’ at the Tirumala Temple in Andhra Pradesh's Tirupati, to ward off evil effects. 

TTD Organises ‘Shanti Homam’ at Tirumala Temple

Tirupati Tirumala Devasthanam (TTD) has announced a ‘shanti homam’ at the Tirumala Temple. In a statement, TTD EO, Sri J. Syamala Rao said, “To counteract any ill effects and restore the sanctity of the Laddu Prasadam, as well as to ensure the well-being of Srivari devotees, TTD will perform the Shanti Homam at the Tirumala temple on September 23.”

Executive officer of Tirumala Tirupati Devastanam (TTD) Syamala Rao and other officials of the board participated in the homamam along with the priests.

Pawan Kalyan Announces 11-Day ‘Prayashchitta Diksha’

Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister, Pawan Kalyan, expressed his guilt over the incident at the Tirupati temple's Laddu Prasadam incident and announced an 11-day initiation, 'Prayashchitta Diksha,' at the Sri Dashavatara Venkateswara Swamy Temple. This ritual is meant to atone his sorry and grief for the alleged use of animal fat in the Tirupati Laddu Prasadam distributed at the Tirumala Temple.

The Jana Sena Party leader has commenced the 11-day ‘Prayashchitta Diksha’ on Sunday morning at the Sri Dashavatara Venkateswara Swamy Temple in Nambur, Guntur District. He will continue the ritual at the temple for the full duration.
