Trinamool Congress MP from Basirhat and Bengali film actress Nusrat Jahan was Sunday admitted to Apollo Gleneagles Hospital in Kolkata after she reportedly complained of breathing problems. Nusrat was rushed to the private hospital on Sunday night at around 9:30 pm. Initial news suggested it to be a case of medicine overdose which was quashed by Nusrat Jahan's spokesperson.

"She will be back in action and will be attending Parliament session soon"

"Nusrat has a history of asthma and uses an inhaler usually. Last night, she had to be admitted to Apollo, because of breathlessness and the inhaler was also not giving any respite. Nusrat Jahan was under observation and her vitals are now fine", said Abhishek Mazumdar, spokesperson of the MP. Reacting to reports of a medicine overdose that led to her hospitalisation, Abhishek called them 'baseless'. He also stated that Nusrat is a strong human being and rumours like these are baseless. "She will be back in action and will be attending Parliament session soon", said the popular-actress-turned MP's spokesperson.

Nusrat Jahan who reportedly suffered from asthma was rushed at the Intensive Care Unit(ICU) of the private hospital in Kolkata's Salt Lake area on Sunday night. The spokesperson said that as she is a VVIP patient, it was a better decision to keep her in standard care unit, so that she can be taken care of well by the team of doctors.
