Tragic Incident in Lucknow: 12-Year-Old Dies After Accidental Shooting

Lucknow: A tragic incident unfolded in the Krishna Nagar area of Lucknow, resulting in the death of a 12-year-old boy. The child was accidentally shot while playing with a rifle belonging to his maternal uncle, who had come from Jalaun.

The unfortunate event occurred in the Prem Nagar locality that comes under the Krishna Nagar police station. The boy was playing with his uncle's licensed rifle when it accidentally discharged. The bullet struck the child in the abdomen.

Despite being rushed to King George's Medical University (KGMU) for treatment, the boy succumbed to his injuries during medical intervention.

The local police have taken possession of the licensed rifle as part of their investigation into the incident.

The incident has cast a pall of sorrow over the community, highlighting the dangers of firearms in domestic settings and the critical importance of stringent safety measures. And it also highlights that there is no wisdom in giving firearms to kids for any reason.
