Truck Carrying Crocodiles and Elephants Overturns In Telangana Forest
A truck carrying eight endangered crocodiles and other animals overturned near a forest check point in Telangana after the driver lost control of the lorry.
Nirmal: In a shocking case of rash driving, a truck transporting eight endangered crocodiles and other animals from Sanjay Gandhi Biological Park in Patna to Bannerghatta Biological Park in Bengaluru overturned near the Mondigutta forest check post in Telangana's Nirmal district.
Police have registered a case against the driver for reckless behavior. The incident occurred on Wednesday when the truck, carrying eight crocodiles, two white elephants, two tigers, and several other animals, collided with cement pillars and veered off the road into the wilderness after the driver lost control.
Driver Loses Control of Truck Carrying Crocodiles and Elephants
The accused driver, identified as Abdul Mannan Mandal (51), lost control of the vehicle while on NH-44, crashing into cement pillars. This collision caused the container lorry to overturn, resulting in substantial damage.
"On October 16 one lorry coming from Patna toward Bengaluru reached near Mondigutta forest check post at about 13:00 hrs. The driver drove the lorry container in a rash and negligent manner and hit the cement pillars on the NH-44 road. The container lorry overturned and was damaged," Nirmal district Superintendent of Police said.
According to the police official, a case has been filed against the lorry driver, Abdul Mannan Mandal (51), under Section 281 BNS of Mamada PS in Nirmal District. Mandal, a resident of Sankpur, Gopal Nagar, West Bengal, faces charges following the incident. Fortunately, all the animals were safely rescued despite the accident.
