Turned away by 3 hospitals, Delhi police’s frantic search for accused’s treatment ends in fatality

Desperate for medical attention, the Delhi police rushed Pramod to Jag Pravesh Hospital. However, their quest for treatment took a grim turn.

New Delhi: Pramod, a 47-year-old accused of molestation, succumbed to his injuries after jumping from a police vehicle in New Osmanpur, North East Delhi.

Around 9 PM, responding to a distress call, Delhi Police apprehended Pramod, who was reportedly under the influence of alcohol. During transit to Usmanpur Police Station, the accused, in an intoxicated state, leaped from the moving police vehicle, sustaining serious injuries.

Delhi police desperate for medical attention, but fails 

Desperate for medical attention, the police rushed Pramod to Jag Pravesh Hospital. However, their quest for treatment took a grim turn. 

Zee TV Hospital, LNJP Hospital, and RML Hospital were unable to admit him due to various constraints, leading to a tragic end at JPC Hospital, where Pramod was declared dead at 5:45 AM.

The Delhi Police had registered a case against Pramod under several sections of the IPC at New Usmanpur Police Station. Despite their efforts, the accused's journey from one hospital to another ended in a heartbreaking lack of medical assistance.

Criminal cases against Pramod 

Two criminal cases against Pramod are on record at New Usmanpur Police Station, with a medical board in the process of being formed for the post-mortem examination.

Investigations are ongoing as questions arise about the accessibility and responsiveness of medical facilities in such critical situations.
