UK calls terror attack on CRPF forces in Pulwama "senseless and brutal", expresses solidarity with India

United Kingdom offered its condolences to the soldiers who were martyred in the attack in Pulwama in Jammu and Kashmir. It also said that it stands in solidarity with India over the attack.

United Kingdom offered its condolences to the soldiers who were martyred in the attack in Pulwama in Jammu and Kashmir. It also said that it stands in solidarity with India over the attack.

Foreign Secretary and MP Jeremy Hunt from South West tweeted saying the UK stands with India. He also said he was shocked by the "senseless" attack and offered condolences to the martyrs' families. 

"Shocked by today’s senseless and brutal act of terror in India-administered Kashmir. I offer my sincere condolences to the victims’ families," he said. We stand with India," he said.

 

Chairperson of Foreign Affairs Committee and MP Tom Tugendhat also expressed his sadness on the attack.

"I’m deeply saddened by the terrorist attack in Kashmir. Thoughts are with the Indian security personnel killed and injured by this appalling crime," he said.

UK Minister of State UN and Commonwealth Lord Tariq Ahmad said he conveyed his condolences and prayers to Indian High Commissioner in UK.

"Met today with High Commissioner @RuchiGhanashyam of #India & conveyed our condolences & prayers for the victims of the terror attack. India 🇮🇳 is a key partner for the UK 🇬🇧 across trade, security & culture," he said.

 

On Thursday, a convoy carrying CRPF personnel was attacked by Pakistan backed Jaish-e-Mohammed leadling to the martyrdom of 37 personnel. At least five soldiers were injured.
