New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi highlighted the impact of the Sufi music festival Jahan-e-Khusrau, stating that its greatest achievement over the years has been securing a special place in the hearts of people.
Addressing the audience, PM Modi spoke about the cultural and artistic significance of such festivals. "Before coming to the mehfil, I had the opportunity to visit THE Bazaar... Moments like these are not only important for the country's culture and art but also bring a sense of relief," he said.
Reflecting on the festival's journey, he noted, "Jahan-e-Khusrau's journey is completing 25 years. Over these years, this festival has carved a place in people's hearts, which is its greatest success."
Extending his greetings ahead of Ramzan, the Prime Minister said, "I extend my greetings to the entire country as Ramzan is about to begin. Since I am here at Sunder Nursery, it is important to remember Aga Khan. His contribution to beautifying Sunder Nursery has been a blessing for many artists."

Speaking about the performances at the event, he said, "In the 'Nazr-e-Krishna' presented here, we saw glimpses of our shared heritage. There is a unique fragrance in this event of Jahan-e-Khusrau--the fragrance of Hindustan's soil!"
PM Modi also recalled the words of Hazrat Amir Khusrau, who, he said, regarded India as greater than all the prominent nations of his time. "Hazrat Amir Khusrau described India as greater than all the big countries of the world at that time...He called Sanskrit the best language in the world...He considers the wise men of India to be greater than even the greatest scholars," he said.

Touching upon Sufi traditions, he added, "When Sufi culture came to India, it felt connected to its roots."
The three-day festival, running from February 28 to March 2, brings together artists from around the world to honor the legacy of Amir Khusrau. Founded in 2001 by acclaimed filmmaker and artist Muzaffar Ali, Jahan-e-Khusrau is organized by the Rumi Foundation and is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year.
During the event, the Prime Minister explored the TEH Bazaar (TEH: The Exploration of the Handmade), which featured One District-One Product crafts, a selection of exquisite artifacts from across India, and short films showcasing handicrafts and handlooms. He also engaged with shopkeepers during his visit to the Bazaar.
