Mumbai: United States Ambassador to India, Eric Garcetti on Wednesday made a statement saying there is going to be new President in the White House but one think that won't change is America's devotion and friendship towards India and Indian people as one is the fastest growing economy in developed world and the other is the fastest in the developing world.

“We will have a new President in the United States. But one thing won't change, which is America's devotion to and friendship to India and the Indian people. We know that our countries like each other, our people love each other and that our economies are growing together. America is the fastest growing economy in the developed world. India is the fastest growing economy in the developing world and much of that momentum comes with each other. We're now your number one trading partner," Eric Garcetti said.

"We have a record amount of trade that is tenfold more than it was just two decades ago. So we know that bringing more investment, trade, tourism, students to both countries is good for India and it's good for America. It creates jobs for Indians and jobs for Americans," Garcetti said.

Welcome any partners for bringing peace to world, says Eric Garcetti

The US envoy further said that they welcome any partners who are trying to bring peace to this world, after India's statement that this is not an era of war amid Russia-Ukraine and Israel-Gaza war. India has always been a country that has stood for peace and whatever influence it can exert to bring peace to people who are suffering an unwarranted invasion of Ukraine.

India is really coming into its own, not just about being a domestic power, a regional power, but a global power and a force for good, he added.

“We welcome India's efforts, whether it's creating peace on the seas against piracy or whether it's intervening in wars to try to bring peace,” Garcetti added.
