New Delhi: The driver who was driving the SUV that killed two people in Uttar Pradesh's Gonda was arrested by the state police. A SUV linked to convoy of Kaiserganj MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh's son Karan Bhushan Singh had mowed down two people in Gonda district.
The man, identified as Luv Kush Srivastava, who was allegedly driving the SUV has been arrested by Police. "Rehan and Shehzad, the two were on the bike when they met an accident. Police took them to hospital where both were declared dead. Bodies are sent for the postmortem. A case has been registered under the appropriate sections. Fortuner has been impounded. The driver of the Fortuner is also arrested..." said Additional SP Radhe Shyam Rai.

Earlier in the day, Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh told Republic that the driver of the vehicle will take the responsibility. “Karan Bhushan Singh's vehicle was 3 km away from the car that killed two persons. Those kids fought with a woman and later their car lost balance, hitting two persons. The incident is painful and shouldn't have happened. The driver will take the responsibility,” Brij Bhushan told Republic. Karan, 30-year-old, has been fielded by the BJP from his father’s seat, which went to the polls in the fifth phase of Lok Sabha election on May 20.

Karan Bhushan Responds to Charges
In first reaction, Karan Bhushan dodged the charges of hit and run case and said, “This was an accident. I was going to Bahraich with four cars and the incident occurred with the cars that were behind me. One woman was crossing the road and to save her, the bikers swerved and were hit by the car.”
"This is an extremely unfortunate incident. We are doing everything that we can do for the family," the Kaiserganj BJP candidate added.
