Chamoli: Amid incessant rainfall in Uttarakhand, a massive landslide has taken place in the Chamoli district, disrupting traffic in the affected area.
The landslide has been caught on camera and the same has been shared by the Uttarakhand Police.
Uttarakhand Police has shared a video on the social media platform ‘X’ (formerly known as Twitter), of a hill crumbling on to the road.
This has led to major damage on the Badrinath National Highway.
Along with the video, the Chamoli Police has requested all the people in the area to remain calm and patient.
So far, no injuries or casualties have been reported.
In another news, A voter turnout of 21.20 per cent in Badrinath assembly bypoll in Uttarakhand till 11 am on Wednesday, officials said. Voting began at 8 am and will go on till 6 pm, they said.
Amid heavy rain, on late July 9, Moderate rainfall continued in parts of Himachal Pradesh, causing the closure of 34 roads.
The State Emergency Operation Centre said 18 roads in Shimla, 10 in Mandi, three in Kangra, two in Kullu and one in Kinnaur district were closed till the evening.
It added 44 transformers and 47 water supply schemes were also disrupted.
