Nagpur: In another hit-and-run case in Maharashtra, an elderly man was run over a school bus in Nagpur. The incident was captured on a CCTV camera and shows the 60-year-old man being crushed to death by a speeding school bus.
The incident took place at8:38 am in Nagpur's Raghuji Nagar area. The chilling footage captured the moment when the speeding school bus struck the elderly man from behind, leading to him losing control of his bicycle and falling onto the road, where he was subsequently run over.
The accident took place at 8:38 am in Nagpur's Raghuji Nagar area. The video shows Ratnakar Dixit cycling along the side of a busy road when a bus approaches from behind and hits him. His bicycle is spun around and pulled under the rear wheels of the bus, dragging him along.
Following the accident, the bus driver continued driving, leaving the injured man behind. Dixit later succumbed to his injuries in a hospital.
Another hit-and-run in Nagpur
In another hit-and-run case in Maharashtra, a 23-year-old man was killed after an unidentified vehicle knocked him down in Nagpur city, police said on Tuesday. The accident took place at around 11.20 pm on Sunday on Katol Road bypass, the Gittikhadan police station in-charge said.
There was no CCTV near the accident spot, he said.
The deceased has been identified as Rahul Khairwar, a native of Madhya Pradesh, the official said. A case has been registered against an unidentified person and an investigation is on into it, he said.
Maharashtra hit-and-run
These incidents happened just days after a Shiv Sena leader's son ran over and killed a woman in Mumbai's Worli using his father's BMW. On Sunday, a woman was killed in Mumbai's Worli area after a BMW car hit a two-wheeler on which she was travelling and dragged her for 1.5 km, police earlier said.
She was later run over by the car before the two vehicle occupants fled. Two persons have been arrested in connection with the incident while search was on for the main accused, according to police.
