Two-Year-Old Girl Rescued After 18 Hours from Borewell in Rajasthan's Dausa, Admitted to Hospital
The two-year-old girl fell into an open borewell while playing in the Bandikui area of Rajhasthan's Dausa.
Jaipur: Eighteen hours after a two-year-old girl fell into a 35-foot open borewell in Rajasthan 's Dausa on Wednesday, the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) successfully rescued her on Thursday. The girl was admitted to the nearest hospital following the rescue.
SP Ranjita Sharma praised the efforts of the NDRF and SDRF teams, saying, “We are very happy that we were able to rescue the girl after 18 hours. It was a very hard task, but with the help of both teams, we succeeded. I would like to thank everyone involved in the operation.”
Yogesh Kumar from NDRF explained the rescue process, noting, “The girl was stuck at 28 feet, and we started a parallel approach to reach her. We had difficulty securing her, but we managed to retrieve her sandal at 21 feet on the first attempt. Due to rain, the rescue took longer than expected. A total of 30 NDRF personnel and 10 SDRF personnel were involved.”
Earlier, District Collector Devendra Kumar had reported that the ongoing rain made the rescue operations challenging. He said, “We have been working hard to rescue the girl, digging both parallel and horizontal shafts. The continuous rain has complicated the operation, but our teams have been doing their best.”
The girl fell into the borewell in the Bandikui area of Dausa on Wednesday, prompting an immediate and extensive rescue effort by the district administration.
