War Over Mangoes & Litchis In Begusarai Results In 12 Rounds Of Firing, Video Emerges

Patna: A video of a minor dispute between neighbours over mangoes and litchis escalating into a violent confrontation in Bihar's Begusarai has gone viral across social media platforms. The incident took place near Chowki Bahiyar of Sahebpur Kamal police station area. 

The dispute began when a group of 10 to 12 villager entered Mukesh Mahato's orchard to loot litchis and mangoes. Mukesh and his family opposed the theft and protested against the loot. This angered the group and they attacked Mukesh and his family with sticks and iron rods. The fight escalated further after 10-12 rounds of bullets were fired.

As per reports, the neighbours had been plucking mangos and litchis from Mukesh's land for past few days. Following this, Mukesh went to the police to register a case against them, however, no action was taken. Meanwhile, the next morning, the same group of villagers launched an attack in the orchard once again and began plucking the fruits. After Mukesh raised a voice against the theft, the group attacked the Mahato family with sticks and iron rods. The group also pelted stones and fired rounds ofd bullets in which two persons were injured.

Police Action Over Mango vs Litchi Land fight

Regarding the incident, Sub Inspector Anil Kumar Paswan of Sahebpur Kamal police station said that there was a dispute between the two parties regarding the land. Action will be taken against both the parties. Five people of one party have been detained. The other party will also be detained soon and action will be taken.

DSP Ramesh Prasad Singh said that both the parties are relatives and the fight was actually a land dispute. There are litchi and mango trees on the land, due to which there was a fight between the two parties.
