After a video of medical professionals including doctors consuming alcohol in Bihar’s Darbhanga went viral on social media, the Bihar Police has launched a probe into the matter. The Police not only raided the premises of Darbhanga Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) but also began the process of identifying doctors from the video as part of the investigation. 

Bihar Police has also recovered and seized three bottles of liquor from the hospital premises during the raid. After the video went viral on social media, an investigation team was constituted under SDPO Amit Kumar on the directions of SSP Avkash Kumar. 

During the raid at DMCH, SDPO Amit Kumar, who came to conduct the operation, stated that there are a total of five rooms in the guest house of the hospital. During the search of a room on the lower floor, three bottles of liquor were recovered, said the SDPO. Inquiry is being conducted with the caretaker of the guest house, he added.

The SDPO informed that identification is being done on the basis of the video and after proper identification, appropriate action will be taken. Earlier, a video of doctors consuming alcohol during a party at Darbhanga Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) had gone viral. The videos and images have allegedly been recorded inside the guest house of Darbhanga Medical College and Hospital during the ongoing Pedicon 2023.
