New Delhi: Elon Musk has pledged to give up omelettes for a week in response to an article by a leading US newspaper highlighting the environmental impact of his recent SpaceX launch. For the unversed, SpaceX has achieved big milestones, including 71 rocket launches: 68 Falcon 9 missions, one Falcon Heavy mission, and two Starship missions.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter) Mike Pesca, who hosts podcasts, shared a picture of the front page of The New York Times explaining the stories on it. He was bewildered as the “MOST important story” on the page was about Elon Musk's successful space launch destroying nine bird nests.
The New York Times front page, shared on X, provided an explanation of its layout: the top right story is the lead, the top left is the sub-lead, and all other stories above the fold are considered crucial news.
Mike noted, “If you’re not familiar with the layout of The Times' front page, here’s a breakdown: The top right story is the lead, the top left is the sub-lead, and everything else above the fold is the day’s important news. Today, The New York Times reports that the second most important story is the mounting pressure from senior congressional Democrats for President Biden to withdraw from the race.”
He continued, “The third most important story covers the surprising results of the French elections. However, the MOST important story is Elon Musk’s recent space launch, which reportedly destroyed nine bird nests.”
This led to widespread social media attention and Musk's unusual response. He reposted the tweet, stating, "To make up for this heinous crime, I will refrain from having an omelette for a week."
A user lightened the mood with a pun, commenting, "As long as it’s not too much of a burden."
Another used asked,"So what will you eat for breakfast?"
Another said, “Attention Elon Musk…. I have HUGE NEWS!!!!! Netflix just asked us permission to make this into a series. Is that ok?”
