In a latest update in the Worli-Hit-And Run case, the Excise Department has cancelled the license of the Malad bar that sold four beer cans to the main accused.

Mumbai: Investigation in the Worli Hit-And-Run Case is underway and in a latest development, the Excise Department has suspended the license of the bar that sold four beer cans to the accused.

The horrific accident that claimed the life of a woman, took place in the early hours of July 7 and after over 72 hours, the police was able to nab the main accused, Mihir Shah.

Sai Prasad Bar in Malad was the place from where the main accused in the Worli Hit-And-Run case, Mihir Shah had bought four beer cans after the permitted time.

The bar failed to produce the CCTV footages of that time to the Mumbai Police as part of their investigation.

As a result, the Maharashtra Excise Department has suspended the bar's licence temporarily, until further notice.

Action Against Vice-Global Tapas Bar In Juhu

Mihir Shah, the son of Shiv Sena leader Rajesh Shah and the main suspect in the Worli hit-and-run case in Mumbai, and his two friends drank a total of 12 large pegs of whiskey, with each having about four pegs, as reported by excise officials citing the bar bill. Reports claimed that such a quantity of alcohol can lead to intoxication lasting up to eight hours.

The state excise department suspended the bar's license for serving alcohol to Shah, who is under the legal drinking age of 25 and found other alleged regulatory violations at the establishment, officially listed as Don Giovanni Restaurant, Jobel Hospitalities Pvt Ltd.

Following the hit-and-run case, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) took action on Wednesday against the Juhu-based Vice-Global Tapas Bar, which Shah had visited. The BMC demolished 3,500 square feet of what they identified as unauthorized construction at the bar.
