Youth Thrashed, Strangled To Death For Stopping 3 From Applying Holi Colours in Rajasthan

A 25-year-old youth preparing for competitive exams was strangled to death for stopping three people who tried to apply holi colours on him.

Rajasthan: A youth preparing for competitive exams was strangled to death by three men after he resisted on being applied holi colours. The incident took place in Rajathan’s Ralwas village when the 25-year-old was studying at a local library.

As the youth was preparing for competitive exams at a local library, three men identified as Ashok, Bablu and Kaluram arrived at the library and tried to apply holi colours at him. The victim has been identified as Hansraj. 

However, when Hansraj resisted them, they started beating him brutally. The three accused kicked the youth, attacked him with belts before one of the them strangled the aspirant to death, said Additional Superintendent of Police Dinesh Agarwal.

Hansraj family members staged a protest and blocked a national highway demanding justice.

The victim’s family has demanded a compensation of Rs 50 lakh, a government job to one of the family members and arrest of the three accused who allegedly killed Hansraj.

Row over Holi on Friday 

Earlier on Thursday, a Sambhal cop erupted a row after he advised people to stay indoors who are uncomfortable with Holi colours or step out with a broad mindset.

Circle Officer Anuj Chaudhary made the statement with regard to holi falling on Ramzan prayers on Friday prayers, a day when the community people offer mass prayers in mosques.

The cop said that Friday prayers takes place 52 times a year but holi comes once, so if anybody is having problem with holi colours being splashed upon, they should avoid coming out and if they really want to then must have an open mindset.

CM Yogi's message for Holi 

On Thursday, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister urged everyone to celebrate the holi festival with harmony and in sync with the traditions of Sanatan Dharma. The Chief Minister also asked people to give respect to each other's choices and shouldn't apply colours to anyone forcibly.
