Bihar Gets a Boost Before Chhath Puja: 3 Amrit Bharat Express Trains Launched | Check Routes and Timings

Patna: In a major boost to rail connectivity in Bihar, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw flagged off seven new trains from Patna today, including three new Amrit Bharat Express trains. These services aim to enhance long-distance and regional travel for lakhs of daily commuters, students, and jobseekers.

With the latest launch, the total number of Amrit Bharat Express trains operating across India has reached 15, out of which 13 now connect Bihar, positioning the state as a central hub in this affordable express train network.

New Amrit Bharat Express Trains from Bihar: Routes and Schedule

The newly launched Amrit Bharat Express trains will link Bihar with major cities like Hyderabad, Delhi, and Ajmer, fulfilling long-standing public demands for better inter-state rail connectivity.

1. Muzaffarpur-Charlapalli Amrit Bharat Express (Hyderabad)

Service Type: Weekly

Major Stops: Hajipur, Patliputra, Ara, Buxar, Prayagraj, Jabalpur, Nagpur, Kazipet

Significance: Connects northern Bihar to Telangana, benefiting migrants and business travelers.

2. Darbhanga-Madar Junction Amrit Bharat Express (Ajmer)

Service Type: Weekly

Major Stops: Sitamarhi, Raxaul, Gorakhpur, Kanpur, Jaipur

Significance: Offers direct rail access from Mithilanchal region to Rajasthan.

3. Chhapra-Anand Vihar Terminal Amrit Bharat Express (Delhi)

Service Type: Twice Weekly

Major Stops: Gorakhpur, Lucknow, Kanpur

Significance: Eases travel to the national capital for jobseekers and students.

Additional New Passenger Trains from Bihar

In addition to the Amrit Bharat Express services, the Indian Railways also launched four new passenger trains to boost intra-state connectivity in Bihar:

Nawada-Patna DEMU Passenger: 6 days/week via Bihar Sharif and Noorsarai

Islampur-Patna DEMU Passenger: 6 days/week via Hilsa, Daniyawan, Punpun

Patna-Buxar Fast Passenger: 6 days/week via Danapur and Ara

Jhajha-Danapur Fast Passenger: 6 days/week via Jamui, Mokama, Bakhtiyarpur

These passenger services are designed to improve connectivity in tier-2 and tier-3 towns, making daily travel more convenient for local residents.

According to the Railway Ministry, the Amrit Bharat Express is designed as a budget-friendly yet comfortable option for long-distance travel. These non-AC trains offer higher speeds and better seating arrangements, catering especially to the middle-class population.

“Bihar has now become a key state in the Amrit Bharat Express network. These trains will not only improve connectivity to metro cities but also empower small towns,” said a senior railway official.
