Bengaluru: Maruti Suzuki India Limited has introduced the stunning new Baleno, a refreshed premium hatchback aimed at young, ambitious urban achievers. Built around the philosophy of “Dare to go Glam,” the model brings a more progressive design language, first-in-segment safety and comfort features, and an updated powertrain. Bookings are open with a token amount of ₹11,000, and prices start at ₹6,09,900 (ex-showroom).

Premium Progressive Exterior
The new Baleno features a redesigned front fascia centred on a wide, all-new NEXWave grille with prominent 3D patterns and horizontal chrome slats. This is paired with a sculpted front bumper, revised lower grille, chrome accent fender garnish, NEXTre’ LED daytime running lamps, and a shark-fin antenna. The model is offered in seven colour options, including the new Enigmatic Teal shade.
NEXA Safety Shield with First-in-Segment Level 2 ADAS
Equipped with a radar-and-camera system, the Level 2 ADAS suite includes Advanced Emergency Braking, Lane Keep Assist, Lane Departure Prevention, Lane Departure Warning, Adaptive Cruise Control, High Beam Assist, Vehicle Sway Warning, and Forward Collision Warning. Standard safety equipment under the NEXA Safety Shield comprises six airbags, Electronic Stability Program (ESP), ABS with EBD, Emergency Stop Signal, Hill Hold Control, reverse parking sensors, 3-point seatbelts with reminders, and a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS).

Enhanced Cabin Experience
The dual-tone interior with piano-black inserts is elevated by first-in-segment ventilated front seats finished in plush leatherette. Other highlights include a premium Clarion sound system, a Qi-certified wireless smartphone charger with active cooling, a 22.86 cm (9-inch) SmartPlay Pro+ touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, 360-degree view camera, Head-Up Display, and Suzuki Connect telematics offering more than 40 features via the dedicated app.
Advanced Z12E Powertrain
The new Baleno is powered by the Advanced Z12E 1.2-litre petrol engine producing 61 kW (82.93 PS) at 5,700 rpm and 112.4 Nm of torque at 4,500 rpm. It features Idle Start-Stop and Dual VVT technology. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual and Auto Gear Shift (AGS). Claimed fuel efficiency stands at 23.80 km/l for the manual and 24.77 km/l for the AGS variants – improvements of 6.4% and 7.9% respectively over the previous model. The S-CNG version with the same engine and 5-speed manual delivers 33.61 km/kg, a 9.8% improvement.
