Info: The Indian stock market, as represented by the Sensex and Nifty, continued its impressive rally for the ninth consecutive trading session on Friday, reaching new all-time highs.

However, investors should note that the market will be closed for nine days in September. These closures are due to four Saturdays and five Sundays, the standard non-trading days.

It's important to highlight that there are no weekday holidays scheduled for the Indian stock market in September 2024. Unlike last year, when Ganesh Chaturthi fell on a weekday, this year the festival coincides with a weekend.

Remaining Stock Market Holidays in 2024

  • Gandhi Jayanti: October 2, 2024
  • Diwali (Laxmi Pujan): November 1, 2024 (special Muhurat trading session)
  • Gurunanak Jayanti: November 15, 2024
  • Christmas: December 25, 2024
  • Previous Trading Session Recap

The strong performance of the Sensex and Nifty on Friday was driven by positive global market sentiment and increased foreign fund inflows.

The BSE Sensex closed at a record high of 82,366, up 231 points, while the NSE Nifty reached a new all-time high of 25,235, up 84 points.

The Indian stock market, like many others worldwide, observes certain holidays throughout the year. These holidays are typically religious or national occasions that necessitate a break from regular trading activities.
