Jodhpur, August, 2026: When people picture where India’s next fintech is being built, they tend to picture Bengaluru or Mumbai. StrykeX, one of a small number of algorithmic trading platforms cleared by India’s exchanges to offer fully automated strategies, was built somewhere else entirely, in Jodhpur, Rajasthan, by a bootstrapped company that has never raised a rupee of outside capital. It is a marker of how, and where, India’s markets are being brought to a new generation of retail investors.
The wider backdrop is a market being formalised in real time. India is now one of the world’s largest arenas for retail derivatives trading, and automated, algorithm-driven trading — long the domain of institutions- is moving toward the retail investor. In April 2026, a new SEBI framework for retail algorithmic trading took full effect, setting clear rules for who may offer these tools and how. The result is a smaller, more accountable field of homegrown players building for the Indian retail investor, and StrykeX is among them.
Institutional-style tools, for the everyday investor
Built by Stockwiz Technologies and launched in July 2025, StrykeX is designed to give an ordinary retail trader the kind of systematic, rules-based execution that was once available only to professional trading desks. Once a user chooses a strategy, the platform automates the decisions a professional desk would, including entries and exits, stop-losses, position sizing and ongoing risk management, trading through market hours without the user needing to watch the screen. It connects directly to the user’s broker account, and strategies can be tested in a virtual mode before real capital is committed.

The platform offers a suite of more than 45 pre-built, ready-to-deploy algos across the equity, futures and options segments, letting a user put a researched strategy to work without building one from scratch. A companion product, StrykeX Builder, launched in May 2026 and lets more self-directed users design and backtest their own automated strategies through a drag-and-drop interface, with no coding. It is a democratisation of tools that, until recently, sat firmly out of reach of the retail investor.
Adoption has scaled quickly. StrykeX now handles more than 10,000 orders a day, with monthly turnover on the platform exceeding ₹500 crore.

Compliant by design, not by compulsion
What sets the company apart in a crowded, historically unregulated space is the ground it stands on. Under SEBI’s framework, an algo provider must be empanelled with the exchanges, and any provider offering “black-box” strategies, fully automated systems where the underlying logic is not disclosed to the user, must additionally hold a SEBI Research Analyst registration. Stockwiz holds both. It has been a registered Research Analyst since 2023, secured its NSE empanelment in January 2026 and its BSE empanelment in March 2026, putting it, as of July 2026, among only three of the eleven exchange-empanelled algo platforms in the country permitted to offer black-box strategies.
That standing matters at a moment when SEBI has been acting against unregistered operators making inflated claims. For a homegrown platform to have cleared both bars, and to have done so ahead of the deadline, is a signal of the kind of credible, rules-first fintech the new framework is intended to encourage.
“You don’t have to be in Mumbai or Bengaluru to build a compliant, technology-led company. We built ours from Jodhpur, on our own capital, and having to be careful with every rupee made us more disciplined about what we built, not less,” said Parang Mehta, Founder and Managing Director of Stockwiz Technologies.
A company built from Bharat
Stockwiz was founded in January 2023 by Parang Mehta, a trader who spent years working through his own losses and lessons before finding consistency, later training in institutional trading in New York and in trading psychology and risk in Sydney. With no formal background in technology, he built the company’s engineering organisation from scratch, from Jodhpur.
From ₹1 lakh of founding capital, the company has grown into an ecosystem that spans education, research and automated trading, serving more than 40,000 users with a team of around 75, profitable and without external funding. Its education is delivered in both English and Hindi, reaching traders well beyond the metros. In April 2026, it brought its community and team together for Ignite 2026, its first annual event.
It is, in miniature, a version of a larger national story: capability, technology and ambition emerging from India’s smaller cities, and reaching the everyday investor on their own terms.
