The choice to be their voice: Opting for a better world, one right choice at a time
This World Environment Day, we're shifting the spotlight to these beautiful creatures.
At Doctors’ Choice, we've observed a significant oversight in environmental care discussions. These conversations often focus exclusively on nature—trees, oceans, and air—while neglecting the magnificent animals that inhabit our planet. This World Environment Day, we're shifting the spotlight to these beautiful creatures.
How did we achieve this? By adopting ten endearing animals at the Alipore Zoological Gardens in Kolkata and committing to provide them with the best care possible, we took a meaningful step forward.
To raise awareness about the initiative and to encourage more people to rally to the cause, we decided to hold an event at the Alipore Zoo on World Environment Day, chaired by Birbaha Hansda, Hon’ble MoS(IC) Forests, SHG and Consumer Affairs.
On the sultry afternoon of June 5th, 2024, the event commenced promptly at 2 o'clock with the gracious felicitation of esteemed dignitaries who honoured us with their presence. Following this was an inspiring welcome address delivered by Sri Saurabh Chowdhury, MS, WBZA, along with the announcement of Doctors' Choice's adoption of the ten animals.

Speaking fervently about our responsibility towards the environment and its inhabitants, Shivam Agarwal, Head of Marketing and Communications, emphasised the significance of each individual's contribution, no matter how small.
Sustainability is the need of the hour, something we take seriously at Doctors’ Choice and our commitment towards it was beautifully highlighted by Surya Agarwal, Head of IT.
Stressing on the importance of our initiative, Bijay Agarwal, MD and CEO, pointed out the necessity for humans to redefine progress and adapt their lifestyles to safeguard the animals that roam the earth.
The event pulsated with life as we set out to add a little greener to the city by planting trees on the premises; and hosting an engaging quiz for students from various schools and colleges.
In collaboration with Calcutta Round Table 4, we welcomed 250 underprivileged children to join our World Environment Day celebrations.
With the aim of not letting their efforts go unrecognised, we presented branded t-shirts to the dedicated caretakers at the zoo, acknowledging their invaluable contributions.
We found our victory in the resolve of the esteemed educational institutions across the city, as they pledged to adopt more animals at the Alipore Zoo.
The true highlight, however, was witnessing the sparkle in the children's eyes and their eagerness to make a difference for the animals, the environment, and the future.
