SENSATIONAL: Congress alleges Rs 15 crore bribe by BS Yeddyurappa’s son to lure MLAs ahead of floor test

Hours before the crucial floor test in Karnataka Vidhana Soudha, VS Ugrappa, a Congress MLC, has alleged that BS Yeddyurappa’s son is trying to lure Congress MLAs by offering Rs 15 crore bribe. Furthermore, he also alleged that the Yeddyurappa’s son has also agreed to withdraw cases against them.

Meanwhile, the Congress party has also accused BJP MLA BJ Puttaswamy of offering cash to its MLA.

The Congress MLA’s allegation comes a day after JD(S) leader HD Kumaraswamy accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of hijacking two MLAs from Congress-JD(S) alliance. However, while asserting faith on the MLAs, he also said he is confident that they will come back.

"Two MLAs have been hijacked by our BJP friends. But, I am certain that they will come back to us. All will be present in assembly and during the floor test," said Kumaraswamy.

Earlier on Saturday, in a massive setback to the Congress party and Janata Dal (Secular), the Supreme Court has rejected the Congress' plea challenging the appointment of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA K.G. Bopaiah as the pro tem speaker and has ordered that he will head over the crucial floor test. During the hearing Additional Solicitor General (ASG) Tushar Mehta said the speaker has taken a decision that the proceedings on the floor will be live telecasted on local channels, to which Justice AK Sikri observed that it resolves the entire issue.

In a dramatic hearing on Friday, the Supreme Court had ordered a floor test, to be held on Saturday in Karnataka Vidhana Soudha at 4pm, asking concerned parties to prove their majority in the floor of the House to stake claim to the Karnataka government. During the hearing as the Congress and JD(S) agreed to the floor test, the BJP had argued for more time and had also asked for a secret ballot. However, the apex court declined both the requests made by the BJP.
