Art is the expression of the thoughts and imaginations of the artist. Eminent American-Polish novelist, Jerzy Kosinski, said, “The principles of true art is not to portray, but to evoke”. For centuries, artists have taken up the medium to put forward their opinions. They have used the brush to protest against the unfair, and extend their support. Continuing the tradition, a Polish artist has taken up the initiative to put forward the problems of the current social structure through his artistic creations. Pawel Kuczynski, the 42-year-old graphic designer created amazing artworks that hold important social messages.

Pawel Kuczynski, through his drawings, brings forward several political, social, environmental and personal issues that the current generation often comes across. A lot of his creations focus on the adverse effects of technological advancements. It depicts how technology is gradually taking over the current generation since people have become more dependent on social media and their cell phones. It shows how politicians use social media platforms for publicity stunts, and that people engrossed in their cell phones never get the time to look around. It also shows how the current generation craves for the internet and is living in the virtual world, being indifferent to reality. The images shared on the artist's official Instagram page has grabbed several eyeballs, as each of his work extends a very strong message.

Here take a look at some of his creations:

1. Technology fails to feed

This picture showing that an empty plate is loading and the spoon beside it is controlled by a computer mouse. Although the artist doesn't confirm, however, it seems like through this picture he sarcastically portrays people's hunger for technology, which at the end of the day won't suffice a human's hunger for food.

2. Cellphone blinders

The artist in this picture metaphorically portrays cellphones as horse blinders. As the firm leather squares or plastic cups attached to a horse's bridle or hood prevent it from seeing what's behind and beside him, humans are also blinded by their cellphones. They are so engrossed in it that they distance themselves from their close ones and often miss out on what's happening around them.

3. An Intellectual-dive in the Cyber Sea

In this picture, artist Pawel Kuczynski seems to extend the message that in the world of growing technologies, books are the hidden treasures. The growing use of Kindle and other gadgets have reduced the use of books, but through the image, he portrays that gadgets can never deliver the kind of knowledge that is provided by books.

4. Relationship or bindings?

In this picture, the artist talks about relationships. Portraying an engagement ring as a handcuff, the artist brings out the very relatable issue of how wrong relationships often become a binding in life. It restricts one's free spirit to take decisions or make choices. The picture speaks a thousand words and will definitely give you goosebumps.

5. While its a game for one, its food for the other

This picture brings out the brutal reality of the class-division of our society. While the privileged class of the society is provided with all pleasure, the other half, that is, the economically backward people starve in hunger. In this picture, the artist brings out the contrast between the two sections of the society through two children, one belonging to the privileged class, who considers 'A for apple' a game, and the other from the deprived section to whom its just food.

6. Environmental distress

The artist, through his paintings, also talked about several Environmental issues like the global warming. This picture shows how the gradual melting of the polar ice is killing the polar animals as they are eventually losing their habitat.

Pawel Kuczynski who graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Poznań, Poland, majored in graphic designing. He has been involved in creating artwork which sends out a social message since 2004 and has won over 100 awards and distinctions for the same.
