Comedian Bhuvan Bam has become a household name in India with his popular YouTube channel BB Ki Vines. Along with comedy, the YouTube sensation also uploads videos with social messages that every young aspirant needs to know. Due to his rising fame, Bhuvan Bam is roped in by quite a number of brands as their marketing ambassador.
Bhuvan Bam was born on January 22, 1994, in Baroda (Vadodara), Gujarat. As per reports, he went to Green Fields School and completed graduation in History from Shaheed Bhagat Singh College in Delhi. In an interview with a media organisation, Bhuvan expressed that it was during the gap between his 12th standard and college when he realised his passion for music. He said that at the very start of his career, he used to sing at bars and restaurants in Delhi and it was his basic source of income then. Initially, BB used to upload videos on Facebook.
Reportedly, his first comedy video titled The Chakhna Issue received only 20 views. He was still dedicated to his idea of making people laugh and thus, continued uploading more videos. Bhuvan started his YouTube channel BB Ki Vines in 2015. His channel consists of 2-8 minutes videos depicting the life of an urban teenager and his sarcastic, whimsical conversations with his friends and family- all played by Bhuvan Bam himself. Bhuvan himself shoots the videos with the front camera of his phone.
Some of the recurring characters in BB Ki Vines except Bhuvan Bam as himself are Banchoddas Chattriwala aka Bancho (Bhuvan’s friend), Sameer Fuddi (Bancho’s cousin), Babloo Ji (Bhuvan’s father), Jaanki Ji (Bhuvan’s mother), Titu Mama (Bhuvan’s maternal uncle), Babli sir (Bhuvan’s teacher) and Mr. Hola (their rival). However, apart from comedy videos, Bhuvan Bam has also diversified his content by establishing himself as singer, actor and interviewer. He interviews people in his other show, Titu Talks.
The first video of BB Ki Vines that went viral with the Indian audience was Valentine’s Week Hutiyapa in 2016. It is said that it takes around 7 hours for him to shoot a video, edit and upload it. Bhuvan has said that he did not start out to make money. Instead, he only wanted to share his jokes.
