A healthy skincare routine during adolescence is significant in maintaining a glowy and clear skin. Generally, it is observed that teenagers go through hormonal changes that can impact the skin, resulting in acne and increased oiliness. It is important to follow a simple and consistent skincare regimen to overcome the challenges, which can not only promote physical well-being but can also infuse a feeling of spending time with valuable self-care habits that can last for a lifetime.

Here's a list of fundamentals for a teen skincare routine, offering practical tips to achieve a balanced and radiant complexion.

1. Cleanse:

The purpose of cleansing is to inhibit bacterial activity, reduce blemishes, and regulate sebum.  The method is to take a coin-sized amount of skin cleanser, apply it on the face and neck, and massage upward.

2. Toner:

To prevent excess sebum production through enlarged pores, toning is important. Toners help the skin by shrinking pores, therefore, managing the sebum production of the skin.

5. Use Lip Balm:

Dry weather, salty foods, and dehydration can ruin the moisturiser out of lips, leaving them chapped and dry. The purpose is to prevent and soothe dry, chapped lips. The method is to apply lip balm throughout the day as needed.

6. Exfoliate (1-2 times a week):

You use a scrubber to exfoliate your skin 1-2 times a week to scrape off any dead cells or bacteria from the skin to cleanse the pores deeply and purify the skin. This helps prevent any build-up of bacteria and sebum. The purpose is to remove dead skin cells, unclog pores, and promote skin renewal.

7. Treat Acne Diligently:

It is extremely important to regulate it and treat it with discipline. Teenage acne can be stubborn and along with treatments, patience is also key. The purpose is to address and manage the acne issues.

Remember to customise your product based on your skin type and any specific concerns you may have. If you have persistent acne concerns,  you may consult a skin specialist.
