Going for a walk
This one seems like a no-brainer. Going for a walk is one of the easiest and cheapest things one can do when he/she wants to stay away from technology. Going for a nice long walk makes the mind feel fresh, and the person feels rejuvenated. Getting some fresh air is a foolproof way to re-energize.

Cooking
Cooking something delicious from scratch is counted as a very productive thing to do. Baking something that is easy to make will not take much time and also make you feel good about yourself for doing something independently. It makes up for a great break from technology.
Reading a book
Technology can never make one experience what it is like to get lost in a really good book for a few hours. Reading is the best exercise for the brain as it involves using imagination for a while. eBooks are nowhere even close to the feel of actual and real printed books.

Taking a nap
Uninterrupted sleep is a luxury that very few people can afford. On a free-day or a holiday, when someone wants to get away from the internet, taking a good nap is the best thing to do. Simply shut off your phone and take a quality catnap instead. It is the best idea.

Exercising will not only keep one away from straining the eyes but will also keep you healthy. Workout sessions can include proper fitness routine, yoga, long rung, etc.
