Halloween 2018 | These Dogs Dressed In Halloween Costumes Are Taking Over The Internet

The 28th annual Tompkins Square Halloween Dog Parade hosted pooches across New York City who participated in the festival donning quirky costumes.

As the world celebrates Halloween on Wednesday, October 31, people around the globe went out on streets to join the parade donning quirky costumes. However, the celebration of the festival is just not limited to the humans, even their pets are equally a part of it. The 28th annual Tompkins Square Halloween Dog Parade was organized at the East River Park Amphitheater, at Grand Street on Sunday, October 28, and pooches across New York participated in the event donning quirky costumes.   

The free event allows participants to walk-in and flaunt their pet's costumes without any pre-registration or formalities. The runway competition begins at noon where the dogs and their masters can just come in and have fun. All contestants and spectators will then decided the 'Best In Show' and gift them some exciting prizes. Hundreds of dogs came in and participated at the event. While some four-legged donned astronaut costumes there were some who went all floral.

Not only the dogs but their masters too were dressed up to compliment their pets. As per reports, the title of the 'Best in the Show' this year was bagged by the pooch who dressed up as 'Barking Mad Hatter' for the event.

The Tompkins Square Park is the park where the city's first dog run was organised in 1990 as part of the renovation initiative. The park, that welcomes dogs and their owners every day, hosts several events dog runs and fashion parade for the dogs. The First Run held in the park was managed and funded by the community and the dog owners who fought hand to make the whole thing possible raises money and organized volunteers. Now, the park has become more welcoming to the dogs with a running surface composed of decomposed granite sand, underground drainage, a large and small dog run, 3 swimming pools, picnic tables, and bath areas for the pups.
