Christmas is coming soon and a lot of people are eagerly waiting for it. A lot of people visit churches on Christmas day to read mass and also see the decorations. Here are a few churches in Mumbai you can go to on Christmas. Here you can spend time with your friends and family and enjoy the holiday.

Basilica of Our Lady of the Mount, Bandra

This church is also known as Mount Mary Church. This church is present in Bandra and is centuries old. The church is on a small hill known as Mount Mary Hill. It overlooks the Arabian Sea and has a wooden statue of Mother Mary and baby Jesus in the main altar. The statues were brought from Portugal many centuries ago. Over the years, the church has been flooded with devotees who want to offer their prayers to Mother Mary. On the occasion of Christmas, the church is beautifully decorated and is open for visitors to see.

St. Thoma's Cathedral, Fort

This church was built in the honour of Saint Thomas the Apostle. This was the first Anglican Church in the city. It is an important monument and is a part of the interesting history of Mumbai. The British-era chapel once faced towards the east of the fort, making it the gateway for the East India Company. This is how the western gateway of the church became known as Churchgate.

St Michael’s Church, Mahim

St. Michael's Church is one of the oldest Catholic churches in Mumbai. This 16th-century church was built by the Portuguese in 1534. It was known as the San Miguel. It is also the oldest Portuguese Franciscan churches in Mumbai. It is a famous site of prayer and a lot of people are seen at the church during its Wednesday Novena. In 2008, it was also visited by a lot of devotees to witness the miracle of the bleeding Christ.
