History and Importance of World NGO Day 2025

Suggested by a Latvia social entrepreneur, Marcis Liors Skadmanis pushed the idea to observe World NGO Day, which was later recognized in the year 2010, and only in 2014, on February 27, the day was officially observed to acknowledge the work of NGOs.

This much anticipated day is observed by organising an event such as an awareness campaign, discussion, etc., to highlight the work of the NGOs in education, healthcare, social, economic, environmental and other humanitarian work.
