Diwali is around the corner and the festivities will soon be commencing from Dhanteras that falls on October 25. The festivities around Diwali is not just for firing crackers and decorating the house but also for visiting the family, relatives, neighbours and share your care in the form of homemade delicacies. For centuries, Indian families have the tradition of preparing different types of sweets and savouries during Diwali and sharing them with each other. Here are the recipes for a full Diwali feast using coconut milk.

Coconut milk recipes: 

  • Prawn malai curry - The fresh prawns are cooked in garam masala, tomato gravy, ginger garlic paste, spices and coconut milk make for a comforting meal.
  • Dal with coconut milk - Toor dal tempered with raw spices and coconut milk make for a unique creamy dal which is a perfect meal for a sudden guest encounter.
  • Korri Gassi - Mangalore-style chicken curry which can be cooked in coconut milk, tamarind and your choice of spices. The Mangalore-style chicken curry goes well with parotta or rice.

  • Panna Cotta - Go fusion style with this scrumptious dessert on the occasion of Diwali. Panna Cotta is traditionally an Italian dessert which is made from gelatin, cream, vanilla pods into which coconut milk is added. It tastes best when served chill.
  • Thai Chicken Curry - It is a famous curry recipe which includes coconut milk, spices, and the classic green curry paste.
