Delicious food and Diwali go hand in hand, but why not try something new this Diwali, with India’s staple food, which is Dal. Dahi Bhalla

It is a very popular chaat in the North of India. It made up of urad dal, which is finely ground in a mixture along with a pinch of salt in it. Later on, the batter is converted into oval-shaped vadas. It is then cooked and served with curd, sauth and green mint chutney. A great snack option to serve your guests this Diwali.

Puran Poli

A very famous delicacy of Maharashtra  Puran Poli is a sort of sweet paratha which is made up of yellow gram dal. It is an extremely popular dish in Maharashtra, which you can get in almost every other restaurant in the state. Puran Poli is easy to make and extremely delicious in taste. It can either be consumed as a main course dish or a dessert. Serving this unique blend of dal to your family on the occasion of Diwali can be a good choice.

Stuffed dal paratha

Paratha is very filling and tastes supremely delicious when eaten with any pickle or homemade chutney. A stuffed paratha filled with any dal can be a nice combination of mixing flour and lentils in a singular form. One can stuff any dal between the layers of the paratha, the recipe is similar to that of aloo or gopi paratha.

Moong ki dal ka halwa

This hot dessert is relished by individuals in the entire nation. As the name suggests, it is made of moong dal, cooked with sugar, desi ghee, and milk. One can add any amount of toppings to their moong dal halwa-from cashews, almonds, raisins to jelly. It is a very popular dessert, and your guests won’t mind asking for another portion after finishing their first.

Panchratna dal:

An ensemble of five different dals in a single dish is called Panchratna dal. All you need to do is mix together similar quantities of different dals in one, and cook it the usual way-with asafoetida (hing) or trachyspermum ammi (ajawain) tadka, which can add a lot of flavours to your recipe. One can also combine the dish with butter naan or tandoori roti.
