Japanese cuisine definitely does not spare out on offering healthy and nutritious delicacies. As one of the world’s most famous cuisines, Japanese food offers a range of healthy options for fitness freaks. Popular Japanese food items include piping hot bowls of flavour-laden ramen, fresh sashimi made from fish and crunchy tempura and katsu fried on the spot. Apart from these, here are few other nutritious and healthy items from the Japanese cuisine-

Tofu

Tofu is often considered as a 'superfood' by many health experts. Tofu is served on a bed of salad, fried in a rice dish, or even in soup. It is as versatile as they say. It contains lots of protein to keep you full and low in calories. It can be a perfect substitute for beef, pork, or chicken, which may be on the fattier side.

Amazake

Amazake is a nutritious rice drink. Health benefits of amazake come from the vitamins and minerals that are present in the rice.
