Dosa, a staple food dish of every South Indian family, holds an important place in Mumbai. Whether you’re a fan of the classic Mysore Masala Dosa or love all the fusion varieties, every place has their versions of dosas. The best part of dosas in Mumbai is that most of them are quite affordable and hence you can wrap a whole meal in your pocket. Here are a few places in Mumbai that you must try to start your hunt for the best dosa in the city.

Anand Stall, Vile Parle West

There is hardly any space to stand outside Anand dosa stall in Vile Parle due to its popularity. The stall is right opposite Mithibai College and is a popular snacking destination for college-goers in the area. Anand Dosa Stall is famous for their fusion cuisine dosas which include Pizza Dosa, Paneer Tikka Dosa, and Cheesy Pav Bhaji Dosa. One favourite is the spring roll cheese dosa which comes packed with a filling of cabbage, carrot, capsicum, green chilli, spring onion and paneer tossed in a spicy red sauce.

Café Madras, Matunga

Café Madras is one of the oldest and one of the most iconic restaurants in Mumbai. This 75-year-old restaurant serves the most authentic Udupi cuisine in town. Neer Masala Dosa, Pessarattu, and Ragi Dosa are highly recommended and loved there. Ragi dosa, a healthier and much tastier option is a regular and a favourite dish for many. The dark-brown dosa is accompanied by a dollop of fresh white butter, tangy sambhar, and chutney.

Nandu Dosa, Borivali West/Juhu

The varieties available at Nandu Dosa Dinner are amazing. It gives a new level to the fusion food game with Manchurian Dosa, Khakhra Dosa, and Salad Dosa. Their Paneer Cheese Mysore Masala Dosa, Cheese Burst Dosa, and Paneer Pasta Onion Cheese Dosa are highly recommended.
